Kate began baking at a very young age, helping her Nana out in the kitchen with everything from muffins to cookies and pastries. In 1997, Kate made her first shaped cake, an Easter bunny. The cake was from a box and the frosting was a painfully sweet buttercream. But in that moment, a fire was lit. Kate began baking cakes for friends and family and was always asked to make the cake for parties and celebrations.
In 2000, Kate attended the University at Albany, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. While in college, Kate began working in kitchens and learning anything that her co-workers would teach her. Kate was trained by some of the best chefs in the capital region.
